Tree trim

Day 158   June 18th
Our condo neighbours say our trees are blocking their light so we have thinned them out somewhat.  They could actually get much more of a result if they just trimmed the bits overhanging their garden.

Feral

Day 157   June 17th
Some of the plants that have chosen to grow on the slope outside our back fence.

Moss

Day 156   June 16th
We have had a very damp autumn/winter with a much reduced quota of sunshine, The result is sumptuous moss.

Stawberry flowers

Day155  June 15th
The flowers look very healthy and promising but they and one other cluster are all I have to show for 36 plants; not very encouraging.

Rogues Gallery

Day 154   June 14th
The excavations for the new improved drainpipe went right through the part of the garden where these sculptures normally sit.  They had to be temporarily relocated for their own safety.

Drainage ditch complete

Day 153   June 3rd
Ready to drain.  Drainage ditch complete or at least dug

Wasp nest

Day 152    June 12th
The wasp nest with attendent resident wasps lived ouside the upsairs bathroom fan.  The tiny wasps seemed quite happy and industrious until it fell down yesterday. No sign of the wasps.

Tomatoes Rampant

Day 151   June 11th

pipes

Day 40    June 10th
Ready to replace the blocked pipe when we find it.

Drainage

Day 149  June 9th
A blocked drainage (not sewage) pipe caused lots of water to go where it was not supposed to.  The plumber had to dig several trenches to find the pipe.

New Gloves

Day 148   June 8th
Yesterday I noticed a hole in my gardening gloves.  That evening, at ROGI I won a raffle of a new pair of gloves. Good timing!
Day 147    June 7th These berries appeared in the front yard.  They look so bright and colourful they have to be poisonous. I havn't noticed any birds eating them so maybe they are toxic to birds too.

Capture the gate

Day 146    June 6th

O'Reilley's

Day 145   June 5th
Still at O'Reilly's.  We stayed in one of the cabins which meant we didn't have to get up really early to have time for a good walk.

Moss and Lichen

Day 144   June 4th
A green rock in the rain forest at O'Reilly's

First Beetroot

Day 143  June 3rd
I'm not sure when is the best time to dig beetroots, but I think they are probably best when they are still quite small.  I have to believe that because they don't show much inclination to grow bigger.

Feral Potatoes.

Day 142   June 2nd
I didn't actually plant any potatoes in this bed.  It must be from a leftover.  I was giving this bed a rest from them but if they are so resiliant I'll leave them and see what happens.

Bean flowers

Day 141    June 1st So this is what bean flowers look like.  I expected them to be red.
