Never plant palm trees unless you have a huge garden where you can see the whole tree in the distance. In a normal size garden, unless you crane your neck, all you see are rows of poles, or the ground as you bend to pick up yet another frond.
Ah yes, palms. Dead palm fronds in the wheelie bin every week round here! Thanksfully quite a few palm trees died a few years ago in the Great Drought.
